Monroe 3 East Brunswick 0| Boys

A battle for first place in the Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division featured two undefeated foes that were likely to headline the county tournament, in Monroe and reigning back-to-back champions, East Brunswick. The Falcons, traveling on the road, were able to take a two goal lead at halftime on scores from Christian Bernal and Alex Mancinelli. Tabi Essa would also find net and assisted on both goals. Monroe hands the Bears their first loss and improves to 4-0. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Seneca 3 Camden Catholic 1 | Boys

The Golden Eagles continued their scorching start to the season with an Olympic Conference win to move to (4-0). Elkin Bonilla-Hernandez scored a pair of goals in the victory for Seneca. Dylan Bednarek added a goal and an assist. Francis Felix found the back of the net for the Irish in the loss.

Manalapan 4 Middletown South 3 (OT) | Girls

The Manalapan Braves officially “shocked the Shore” Tuesday evening by knocking off a Top-10 state ranked team in Middletown South. Vanessa Sarf was the game’s hero after burying the Golden Goal in overtime to secure the win. Sydney Spilsbury also chipped in two goals during for the winning effort.
