After falling to last year’s South/Central Group 2 Champions, Hillside, in their season opener, Bernards bounced back with a dominating 39-14 win over Johnson. The Mountaineers got off to a hot start, Teddy Gouldin and Gavin Chieff both with two touchdowns in the first half contributed to a 39-0 lead heading into the break. Watchung Hills 16 Hillsborough 13
Despite being shut out of the end zone for three quarters, Watchung Hills rallied late to score a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help secure a win over Hillsborough on their opening day.
