DePaul Catholic 35 Red Bank Catholic 28 | Battle in the ‘Boro

 Frankie Morano led DePaul Catholic on an 80-yard drive capped off by a 4-yard touchdown pass to Aiden Davis with 1:37 remaining to give the Spartans (1-0) a massive win to open the season in an epic battle between top New Jersey Non-Public B programs.  The Spartans are the two time defending champs bringing in 16 new starters who shined in their first big test.  Morano was 19-29 for 281 passing yards and three TD passes with Sean Nevers gaining 95 yards on the ground with two scores.  RBC scored 21 straight to erase a 13-0 first half deficit capped off by a TJ Walsh 12-yard INT for a touchdown.  Gabe Kemp had 36 carries for 207 yards and gave RBC a 28-27 lead in the fourth quarter on a 6-yard TD run before the Spartans won it on their final drive.

Shabazz 32 Atlantic City 19 | Battle at the Beach

Kariem Coston scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to fuel a late Bulldog rally in a top-20 clash with the Vikings. New Haven commit Faheem Ausbon scored three first half touchdowns, while Fahiq Amin had an interception and a fumble recovery on defense for Shabazz (1-0). Don’Taye Thompson broke off a 75-yard touchdown to give Atlantic City (0-1) the lead before Shabazz took control late in the contest.

Ramapo 13 West Orange 12 | Mountaineer Classic | Super Football Conference

Junior RB Joey Gorga scored two 4th quarter touchdowns as Ramapo came back to pick up a season-opening win over No. 18 West Orange 13-12 in Thursday’s Mountaineer Classic. After two thrilling touchdown receptions by Evian Mishoe, the Mountaineers held a 12-0 lead at halftime. They would carry that lead into the 4th, but Gorga scored his first of two touchdowns early in the final frame to make it 12-6. Gorga would score again with 6:00 to go and Philip Key drilled the PAT to give the Raiders the decisive lead. LB Jack Schneider also had an all-star performance on the night with an interception and fumble recovery.

Besides the wild ending, the night was made even more interesting when there was a 30-minute delay during the 3rd quarter due to the lights at Suriano Stadium shutting off!

St. John Vianney 29 Cedar Creek 28 (OT) | Battle at the Beach

Anthony Petracca scored a two-point conversion in overtime to lift the Lancers to a dramatic victory over the Pirates. Noah Fitzpatrick scored three touchdowns in the win for SJV (1-0), including a TD catch in OT. Will Calcagno threw three TD tosses in the victory. Cole Landicini rushed for a score and threw a TD pass for Creek (0-1) in the loss.

Donovan Catholic 52 Kingsway 7 | Battle in the ‘Boro

In Week 0 of 2025, Kingsway traveled to Donovan Catholic and handed the Griffins a 20-7 loss. A year later, Donovan Catholic got its revenge in Week 0, dominating the Dragons in a commanding 52-7 victory. Columbia commit Kahden Davis accounted for three touchdowns, throwing for two while adding an impressive 29-yard rushing score, while Alex Staten led the Griffins on the ground with 113 yards and two touchdowns.

Hoboken opens the season with a bang as Devin McMillan puts together a MONSTER performance, rushing for five touchdowns and adding an interception on defense! The Red Wings roll past Becton, 50-28, to start the year 1-0.
