Day 2 of Week 0 continues with plenty of heaters across New Jersey! We’ve got more Battle at the Beach/Battle in the ’Boro matchups, two Shore Conference rivals going head-to-head, and Don Bosco Prep hosting a powerhouse from the Sunshine State for its home opener. Don Bosco Prep 38 Armwood (FL.) 14 | Non-Conference
Ca’Si Thomas had 275 yards of total offense and four trips to the end zone to set the tone for a dominant Don Bosco effort against a 5A Florida state semifinalist. Thomas had 22 carries for 187 yards scoring from 53, 10 and 55 yards on the ground to go along with an 88-yard short pass from Carson Schoen for his other score. Freshman Davion Mims had a 57-yard pick six and another interception in his varsity debut.

Paramus Catholic 35 La Salle (PA.) 14 | Battle at the Beach
The Paladins fell behind by two touchdowns after the opening quarter, then rattled off 35 unanswered points to score a quality win against the defending Pennsylvania 6A state champions. Penn State commit Chu Odoh rushed for a pair of touchdowns, including a 79-yard scamper for the go-ahead touchdown. Walker Snee added a pair of rushing touchdowns in his debut for Paramus Catholic (1-0). Ahzir Nelson gave La Salle an early advantage with two first quarter touchdowns in the loss.

Glassboro 40 Immaculata 20 | Battle in the ‘Boro
Glassboro opened the 2026 season with a “home” win over Immaculata, extending its regular-season winning streak to 28 games. JoJo DeLecce led the Bulldogs with 136 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Mehki Parker added two touchdowns and an interception. Riley Brown-Dispensa also starred defensively with three sacks, a forced fumble and two recoveries as Glassboro pulled away with 19 unanswered points to secure the win. The Bulldogs will look to make it 29 straight next Friday at Mainland.

Brick Memorial 28 Wall 3 | Shore Conference
Tyler Pierce had two touchdown passes and a TD run in his debut as the starting quarterback for the Mustangs and coach James Mahoney picks up his first victory as head man thanks to the Mustangs scoring 28 straight points in their season opening win. Shawn Fowler found the end zone for Brick Memorial along with Colin Schoellkopf and Casey Pierce.

Toms River North 17 Northern Highlands 14 | Jim Grasso Classic
No. 17 Toms River North drew a tough Week 0 matchup against Northern Highlands in the Jim Grasso Classic and had a tough start to the game, but the Mariners stormed back in the second half by scoring 17 unanswered points to pull off the 17-14 win. The Highlanders led 14-0 at the half after a rushing touchdown from Army commit RB Tucker Kanning in the 1st quarter and a touchdown catch by WR Doyle Flatt from QB Jack Branagh in the 2nd. Then, midway through the third, the Mariners got on the board with a walk-in touchdown run by QB Cole Garrison. In the waning seconds of the quarter, they tied things up after RB Lucas Elias went untouched for an 86-yard touchdown. After some defensive stops, they were able to run the clock down inside 0:20, and that’s when K Carter Tamaro nailed the game-winning 25-yard field goal.
Elias finished the game with 122 rush yards and a touchdown on six attempts while Garrison had 89 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts.

Rancocas Valley 23 Wayne Valley 0 | Battle at the Beach
The Red Devils shut down the Indians in Ocean City to capture their first victory of the season. Zach Merhar threw two touchdown passes in the victory for RV (1-0). Chase Workman had a fumble recovery for Wayne Valley (0-1) in the loss.
