St. Augustine 6 Red Bank Catholic 5 (8 innings) | Non-Public A South Final

The Hermits fell behind 5-0 early, but chipped away to make it 5-4. With St. Augustine down to its final out, Josiah Ragsdale reached base on an error. Ragsdale then stole second, third and home to force extra innings. Kyle Neri was the walk-off hero for the Prep, after taking a pitch to the face in his previous at-bat. It’s the fifth straight sectional championship for St. Augustine (23-6). Alex Stanyek had a pair of RBIs in the heartbreaking loss for RBC (21-4).

St. Joe’s (Mont.) 17 Delbarton 2 | Non-Public A North Final

St. Joe’s has quickly ascended to the upper echelon of New Jersey baseball. The Green Knights delivered their most impressive win to date in a mercy-rule shortened contest to win a sectional championship. Albert Serrano and Derek Benziner combined to go 6-6 with 9 RBI and 2 HR in a blowout over the defending Non-Public A North champs. The win sets up a showdown with St. Augustine for the Non-Public A state final next week.

Holy Spirit 9 Gloucester Catholic 7 | Non-Public B South Final

The third-seeded Spartans scored runs early and often in order to fend off a furious rally from the top-seeded Rams to win its first South Jersey title since 2015. UMBC commit Jayden Shertel, Villanova commit Shane Solari, and West Virginia commit David Hagaman each had a pair of RBIs in the win for Holy Spirit (18-9). Junior Donovan Patten closed it out for the Spartans on the mound. Junior Jeremy Wolf hit a solo home run in the loss for Gloucester Catholic (22-4).

Colts Neck 5 Allentown 2 | Central Group 3 Semifinal

48 hours after being suspended for rain, (1) Colts Neck (21-6) defeated (5) Allentown (15-5) to reach the program’s first ever Central Jersey Group 3 final. The Cougars scored on two passed balls, a fielder’s choice, a bases loaded walk and an error, but the headline was Colts Neck’s pitching. Anthony Gubitosi, the winning pitcher, finished with four hits allowed, one earned run and four strikeouts, Tyler Spencer had no earned runs and picked up three strikeouts while Collin Kratzer coming in for seventh inning relief, ended the day with two strikeouts to close out the game. The Cougars will host (7) Northern Burlington (20-5) in the Championship.
