(1) Hunterdon Central 7 (9) Freehold Township 4 – Diamond Nation Game of the Week – Central Group 4 Quarterfinals
Hunterdon Central’s run back to both of the Central Group 4 and overall Group 4 championships is still alive in well this season. After Freehold Township took a 4-3 advantage in the third inning, Lafayette commit Pete Ciuffreda came through with a mammoth home run to take back the lead in the fourth. (1) Hamilton West 3 (8) Hopewell Valley 2 – Central Group 3 Quarterfinal
No. 20 Hamilton West advanced to the Central Group 3 semifinals with a close 3-2 victory over eighth seed Hopewell Valley. The game was tied 1-1 following a bases loaded walk in the third, a rain delay would stall the game, then Jack Haynes in the fourth inning drove in a run on an RBI single to help the Bulldogs go up 2-1. As the game began to wind down in the sixth, Hamilton West looked to Danilo Perdomo for salvation with two outs and a pair of base runners in scoring position. Perdomo didn’t disappoint as his two RBI double would be the deciding factor of the matchup. The top seeded Hornets will face No. 6 Wall in the semifinals. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

(16) Egg Harbor Twp. 8 (8) Vineland 1 – South Group 4 Quarterfinal
The remarkable run continues for the 16th-seeded Eagles as now they’re through to the sectional semifinal round. Old Dominion commit Robbie Petracci led the way at the plate for EHT with three RBIs. Ethan Dodd went 3-4 with an RBI, and Dodd threw three scoreless innings in relief. George Washington commit Erv Bogan drove in the Fighting Clan’s only run of the game. (4) Wall 3 (5) Colts Neck 1 – Central Group 3 Quarterfinal
The Crimson Knights broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of bases loaded walks and Trey Dombroski came on in relief to throw three shutout innings to pick up the win as Wall earns a spot in the semis against top seed Hamilton West. Dombroski set the Wall single season strikeout record (97) and picked up his 200th career K in the win. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights of an All-Shore battle in the state playoffs:
