The opening week of the season continues with more must-see games around the state!


Summit 11 Westfield 10 | 3OT | Boys

No. 4 Summit defeated No. 8 Westfield 11-10 in triple overtime to kick off the 2022 Boys Lacrosse season. The Blue Devils went ahead 4-0 in the first quarter, Summit would fight back to tie the game at 5-5 heading into halftime. After the Hilltoppers led by three to close out the third quarter, Westfield with four goals tied the game at 10-10 in the final six seconds of regulation on a score from Ryan Waldman. After two overtimes were not enough, Colin Beatty’s Golden Goal with just under a minute to go in triple OT gave Summit the victory. Beatty ended the afternoon with five goals. Haddonfield 9 Ocean City 3 | Boys

The Haddons opened their season with a signature win over the defending SJ Group 3 champion Red Raiders. Cameron Dailey, Asher Conrey and Finn Morgan all scored two goals apiece for Haddonfield in the victory. Pat Grimley scored all three goals for OC (1-1) in the loss.

Wall 10 St. Joe-Metuchen 3 | Boys

Matt Dollive and Connor Moore each had a hat trick and an assist and John McCurry added a pair of goals as the Crimson Knights busted open a 4-2 halftime lead with a four-goal third on the way to reaching the 2-0 mark on the young season. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Wall:


Oak Knoll 16 Immaculate Heart Academy 2 | Girls

There’s some new faces for the reigning TOC champions, but Oak Knoll did not miss a step to start the 2022 campaign. Sophia Loschert pumped in four goals, while Teagan Kocaj and Devon Gogerty each collected hat tricks in a lop-sided opening day win for the Royals. Grace Cassin scored both goals for the Blue Eagles in the loss.
