We’ve got three great soccer matches on the Thursday slate including our look at the Eastern Vikings girls, the #1 team in the nation, along with a big GMC boys showdown between East Brunswick and Monroe plus the Marlboro Mustangs get to 9-1 with a hard fought win over Freehold Boro.

Eastern 3 Shawnee 2 – Girls

The Vikings are the top team in the country according to Top Drawer Soccer, seeking a second straight Group 4 state title this season. La Salle commit Kelli McGroarty scored two goals and Rutgers commit Riley Tiernan added a goal as Eastern raced out to a 3-0 halftime lead. The Renegades rallied late thanks to goals from East Carolina commit Kiley Endres and Temple commit Alexa Endres, but the Vikings hung on to stay undefeated.
