After a two day delay, the Rumble on the Raritan showcase is back home at SHI Stadium on the campus of Rutgers University. JSZ has highlights from Bernards’ impressive win over division rival Hillside, plus a high-scoring shootout between Northern Highlands and Somerville. Bernards 14 Hillside 7
The last time Bernards defeated Hillside was all the way back in Week Three of the 2016 season. For five years, the Comets have had the Mountaineers’ number. That all changed Sunday afternoon after Bernards produced 199 rushing yards on 55 carries and stifled Hillside late to secure the win. Game MVP honors went to Michael Leanza, who carried the rock 37 times for 150 yards.

Northern Highlands 32 Somerville 20
Before the final game of the Rumble on the Raritan showcase, two public school juggernauts met as Northern Highlands defeated Somerville 32-20. The Highlanders latching onto a tight 13-12 lead at halftime, trailed briefly in the third quarter before three unanswered scores put them back in front and eventually secured the victory. Monmouth University commit Enzo Arjona finished with 295 total yards of offense and four touchdowns. Arjona was named the game’s MVP.
