St. John Vianney 50 Morris Catholic 43 | Girls | Winter Classic

No. 1 Morris Catholic (19-0) remains undefeated following a 50-43 win over No. 5 St. John Vianney (16-7). The Crusaders held onto a 27-23 lead at halftime, but it was SJV who went ahead 41-39 entering the fourth quarter behind sophomore Stella Lockhart, Lockhart ended the afternoon with 16 points. Morris Catholic’s defense held the Lancers to just two points in the fourth as junior Mya Pauldo, who entered the game 11 points shy of 1,000 in her career, achieved the milestone in the closing moments of the final quarter to finish with 12. Sister Mia Pauldo led all scorers with 19 points.

Rutgers Prep 60 Red Bank Catholic 50 | Girls | Coaches Choice USA Shore Challenge

McDonald’s All-American Mikayla Blakes had 25 points and 8 rebounds and Chloe Escnaillas had 14 points including five straight in the fourth quarter of a tight game to give the Argonauts a big win at the Coaches USA Shore Challenge.  Rutgers Prep went 20 for 22 from the free throw line and pulled away late in the game.  Addy Nyemchek scored 15 in the loss for the Caseys who are the top seed in the upcoming Shore Conference Tournament.  Rutgers Prep is 17-4 with no losses coming to NJ teams.
