It’s the final day of the New Jersey high school football season and we’ve got four fantastic games to close out the 2019 season. The highlights are posted from a full day of action at Rutgers!

Holy Spirit 38 St. Joe (Hamm.) 0 | Non-Public Group 2 Championship

In a rematch of the 2018 Non-Public Group 2 final, the Spartans got their revenge and then some. Patrick Smith rushed for a pair of touchdowns, E’lijah Gray scored a TD, and Trevor Cohen connected with Elijah Steward for a touchdown on offense. Spirit blocked a punt for a touchdown on special teams. And perhaps most impressively, the Spartans defense shut down the Wildcats all night long. Spirit dedicated the win to former player, head coach, and assistant coach Bill Walsh, who died less than a month ago after a courageous battle with ALS.

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights and reaction from Rutgers:

Hillside 25 Cedar Creek 3 | South-Central Group 2 Regional Championship

Hillside has reached perfection! The Comets close out a stellar 2019 campaign with a signature performance to end the year with a 12-0 record. James Louis found the end zone twice in the win while Nahree Biggins and Co. led a suffocating defensive outing.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has all the highlights and post-game reaction:

Woodrow Wilson 12 Wall 7 | South-Central Group 3 Regional Championship

After falling to Rumson-Fair Haven a year ago, Woodrow Wilson returned to the South/Central Group 3 Regional Championship and defeated Wall. The Tigers scored in the first quarter on a Malik Harvey touchdown, but Wall would take a 7-6 lead at halftime. Defense ruled the second half with both teams coming up with big stops on fourth down. Quarterback Devin Kargman’s one-yard keeper put Wilson ahead 12-7 in the fourth quarter. Despite the Knights moving the ball well with under two minutes remaining, Malik Harvey would end the game with a strip to hand Wall its only loss of the season. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Willingboro 50 Penns Grove 14 | South Group 1 Championship

Au-Shaun Davis threw five first-half touchdown passes and the combination of Demie Sumo and Chris Long had three TD’s apiece as the Chimeras ended the 25-game win streak of Penns Grove and avenged last year’s Group Championship loss at MetLife Stadium. Long finished with 7 catches for 212 yards and 3 TD grabs making him the South Jersey single -season receiving yards leader.
