Freehold Twp. 3 Ridgewood 0 | Group 4 State Final

Hailey Santiago scored twice and assisted on a third goal as the Patriots won their second straight state championship. Captains at Freehold Twp. (20-3) said this team had to battle through some midseason adversity  before finding their stride late in the season. Freehold Twp. and Ridgewood (17-2-2) faced off in last year’s final and actually played a much closer game at 1-0. Ainsley Moy scored the other goal for the Patriots and Ashley Moore made seven saves for a clean sheet.

Chatham 1 Shawnee 1 (Cougars win 4-3 in PK’s) | Group 3 State Final

Abby Droner scored in the 6th round to secure Chatham’s first state title since 2004.  The Cougars had a 1-0 lead in the first half on a McKenna Hogan.  Shawnee drew even in the 77th minute after Katie Portley converted a penality kick.  It all came down to PK’s where Shawnee rallied from 2-0 down to take a 3-2 lead before the Cougars converted two straight to win the title.

Ramsey 3 Wall 1 | Group 2 State Final

Ramsey defeated Wall 3-1 to claim their first Group 2 Championship since 2011. The Rams struck first in the 24th minute off goal from Seton Hall commit Nina Davis, Erin Farrell scored for Wall shortly after to tie the game at 1-1 heading into halftime. Davis assisted freshman Kendall Reid for the go-ahead score four minutes into the second half and added another goal on a penalty kick in the victory.

Mountain Lakes 4 Point Pleasant Beach 2 | Group 1 State Final

Abigail Hawes netted a pair of goals as the Lakers won a rematch of last year’s state final to bring home back-to-back Group 1 state championships. Daisy Duda finished with three assists, while Ashton Parker had a goal and an assist for Mountain Lakes (15-7). Maya Ritchie scored her eighth goal of the season in the win. Baileigh Johnson and Katie Kirchner scored goals in the loss for Point Pleasant Beach (15-4). Mountain Lakes has now won three outright state titles dating back to 2019.
