Showcase Sunday gives us three great games. We’ve got a triple overtime thriller from the Seagull Classic and New Jersey’s #1 ranked girls team in action at the Hoop Group Boardwalk Showcase.


Camden Eastside 73 St. Thomas Aquinas 72 (3OT) | Boys | Seagull Classic

This battle between undefeated teams met the pre-game hype and then some, as the Tigers knocked off the Trojans after a triple overtime marathon. Jalen Long finished with eleven points, providing the game-tying basket late in the fourth and the go-ahead free throws in triple OT. Willy Love and Jahaan Green both finished with a team-high 16 points in the win for Eastside (7-0). Terrell Pitts poured in a game-high 20 points, with Deuce Jones chipping in 19 points of his own in the loss for St. Thomas Aquinas (11-1).

Mainland 62 Elizabeth 48 | Boys | Seagull Classic

The Mustangs stepped on the gas late to turn a close game into a comfortable win at the Seagull Classic. Cohen Cook led Mainland (9-1) with a game-high 19 points. Jamie Tyson went for 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Mawali Osunniyi went a perfect 6-6 from the floor for 13 points. London Carson scored a team-high 11 points for the Minutemen (5-5) in the loss.

St. John Vianney 59 Gill St. Bernard’s 42 | Girls | Boardwalk Showcase

Zoe Brooks put on yet another sensational performance with 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead SJV to a 10th consecutive win to start the season.  Janie Bachman added a dozen for the Lancers while Brooke Baisley had 16 to lead GSB.
