The Hoop Group Boardwalk Showcase at Brookdale Community College brought some elite girls matchups to Monmouth County. JSZ has the highlights of Morris Catholic vs. RBC in a top 5 showdown and a top 10 matchup between Manasquan and Gill St. Bernard’s!
Morris Catholic 49 Red Bank Catholic 46 | Girls
Mya and Mia Pauldo combined for 33 points and delivered in the final minutes to hold off the Caseys at Brookdale Community College in the Hoop Group Boardwalk Showcase. Mya had 20 points to earn MVP honors with Mia scoring 13. Mia gave the Crusaders a 47-46 lead in the final minute with a drive to the basket. The Caseys were not able to answer and Morris Catholic added a pair of free throws to improve to 10-0 on the season. Addy Nyemchek had 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals for RBC who is 7-2.

Manasquan 41 Gill St. Bernard’s 38 | Girls
Carlie Lipinski’s basket broke a 38-38 tie in the final minute to give Manasquan (9-1) a big top 10 win on Sunday evening at the Hoop Group Boardwalk Showcase. The Warriors had a 37-29 lead at the end of three before GSB went on a 9-1 run to tie the game at 38 on a Brooke Baisley three-pointer with 2:38 to go. Manasquan had three players with seven points and two more with eight. UConn commit Gandy Malou-Mamel led the Knights with 15 points and nine rebounds.
