SSZ brings you highlights of three games from the Shore Conference’s Strike Out Autism Saturday including Austin Nappi’s shutout for Red Bank Catholic against Manalapan. We’ve also got Middletown South winning a slugfest at Raritan and a big sixth inning for Rumson-Fair Haven at Saint John Vianney
Strike Out Autism featured 21 high school baseball games at 10 different locations around Monmouth and Ocean County. Money was raised at every location to benefit the Central Regional Autism Club as well as the softball showcase at Middletown North featuring 15 teams and 16 games. SSZ has highlights of three games and all the scores.
Red Bank Catholic 10 Manalapan 0
The Caseys bounced back from an upset loss to Monmouth Regional with a dominating effort less than 12 hours after the Friday defeat. Austin Nappi pitched a five ininng shutout and Steve Turk delivered a three run bases clearing double in the 4th inning. Watch highlights of the Caseys impressive Saturday morning win:
Middletown South 12 Raritan 10
Ryan Ruziecki broke a 6-6 tie with an RBI single in the 6th inning and added three more with a bases clearing triple in the 7th inning to give the Eagles a slugfest win. Ben Porpora went 4-4 and had an RBI triple to cap off a four run 7th inning. Zack Johnston had 3 RBI’s for the Rockets who suffer their first loss of the year. Rumson-Fair Haven 8 Saint John Vianney 3
The Bulldogs used a six run 6th inning to pick up its first win of the year. RFH starting pitcher Gordon Forsyth tied the game at 3 with an RBI double to left and Connor Dupree and Matt Fahey delivered big hits in the rally. Watch the RFH comeback in Holmdel on Saturday:
