Delbarton 39 DePaul Catholic 37 (3OT)

Cole Freeman had a 25-yard touchdown and a 2-point conversion in the third overtime session in a wild shootout in Morristown. DePaul Catholic rallied from a 17-9 fourth-quarter deficit to draw even thanks to an Andrew Butler TD pass to Edward Conoran followed by a two-point conversion. The Spartans had a chance to win it in regulation but Jake Jarmolowich blocked the game-winning attempt to force overtime. Jarmolowich added two TD catches in overtime while Butler hooked up with Teddy Afful for two scores. The Spartans missed the two-point conversion that would have ended the game in a tie. St. Frances (MD) 28 St. Joe’s (Mont.) 0

Two of the nation’s Top 10-ranked programs met in a much anticipated matchup in Montvale. St. Frances Academy, loaded with over a dozen Power 5 players, stormed St. Joe’s in the second half with 21 straight points after the break. It’s the first shutout loss suffered by the Green Knights since Nov. 24, 2011 against Don Bosco Prep.

Rahway 41 Summit 23

In a rematch of last year’s North Group 3 Sectional Final, Rahway avenged its loss to Summit in 2019 with a dominating 41-23 win. The Indians were led by Junior Rashon “RaRa” Bradford who finished the day with 237 overall yards and 4 touchdowns. Rahway handed the Hilltoppers their first loss of the season as they remain perfect at 3-0. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights: 


Penns Grove 42 River Dell 7

The Red Devils dominated this South-North clash, building a 30-0 lead in the first half. Nasir Robinson rushed for three touchdowns in the win. Kavon Lewis and Tyionn Brewer each threw a TD pass, to Torvon Ransome and Jymir Gilliam respectively. Aaron Frazier-Spencer returned a fumble for a score for Penns Grove as well. Jack Gillies connected with Mike Sirico for the Golden Hawks’ only touchdown of the day.

Nottingham 24 Trenton 0

After suffering a 30-0 shutout last season to Trenton, Nottingham returned the favor this season with a 24-0 shutout of their own. The Northstars employed a stifling defensive effort to limit the Tornadoes to less than 100 yards of offense while also forcing three interceptions.
