St. Peter’s Prep 33 Bergen Catholic 30

You can guarantee there will be fireworks every time St. Peter’s Prep and Bergen Catholic meet on the gridiron. Trailing 30-27 with 1:55 left in regulation, junior QB Tahj Bullock drove his Marauders 86 yards and fired the game-winning, 26-yard touchdown pass to Jelani Mason to take the lead. This was a truly back-and-forth contest between two teams that will vie for the Non-Public Group 4 state title this season.

St. Joe’s (Montvale) 55 DePaul 14

It’s never a dull moment when Big North Conference rivals St. Joseph (Montvale) and DePaul Catholic get together. Saturday’s meeting between the two was action-packed right out of the gate as the Green Knights would take a commanding 21-7 lead at halftime following two early touchdowns from junior running back Audric Estime. Estime would finish the day with 171 rushing yards and three scores while Purdue commit Michael Alaimo had 157 passing yards and a touchdown. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Woodrow Wilson 48 Delbarton 38

The Tigers (2-0) outlasted the Green Wave (1-2) in an early candidate for game of the year in New Jersey. Quarterback Devin Kargman had an impressive day through the air, racking up 448 yards and four touchdowns. He would also run for a touchdown in the game. Texas A&M commit Fadil Diggs hauled in 13 receptions for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns.

St. Augustine 28 St. Joe (Hamm.) 12

The Hermits stunned the Wildcats with a relentless ground attack. Franklin Simms rushed for over 100 yards and a touchdown. Nasir Hill rushed for two scores, with Austin Leyman finding the endzone as well. Jada Byers scored a pair of touchdowns for St. Joseph in the loss. It’s St. Augustine’s first win of the season, and its first win on the road against St. Joe since 2008.

Union 10 Westfield 7

The Farmers rallied from a 7-0 halftime deficit with an Andrew Sanborn TD pass to Aaron Myrick in the 3rd quarter and a Ricardo Casas 27-yard field goal in the 4th to reach 3-0 on the season. Diante Wilson had back to back runs of 25 and 22 yards to set the stage for Casas and his game-winning boot with three minutes to go. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Westfield:

Mater Dei Prep 55 Freehold Boro 0

Sophomore quarterback Alex Brown threw three TD passes in the first half and Mater Dei Prep rolled up 41 first-half points on the way to a third straight dominating victory. Isaiah Noguera had a 43 yard TD catch and Kyree Drake delivered a dazzling 52-yard score. Watch the highlights from the Shore Conference:

Ocean Township 41 Monmouth Regional 7

Trebor Pena ran for 163 yards and 3 TD’s in the first half as the Spartans raced out to a 34-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 2-0 mark in 2019. JSZ has the Shore Conference highlights from Tinton Falls:
