Delbarton 4 Kinnelon 3 – Morris County Tournament 2nd Round
Delbarton was in search of a bounce-back win after falling to Bergen Catholic earlier in the week, and the Green Wave got exactly what they were looking for via a close win against Kinnelon. Delbarton’s three-headed monster of Jack Leiter, Anthony Volpe and Shawn Rapp all showed up in the win. JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights from Morristown:
No. 20 Notre Dame 6 Allentown 1
A Colonial Valley Conference matchup between No. 20 Notre Dame and Allentown did not disappoint. Allentown took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second before the Irish retaliated in the bottom of the inning to go up 4-1. Following the early score pitcher Nick Feretic buckled down to allow just three hits on the day and finished with five strikeouts. Jake Kmiec went 3-3 with three RBI’s. #14 Monmouth Regional 8 #3 Middletown South 1 – Monmouth County Tournament
Dante Ciaramella pitched six shutout innings surrendering just two hits, walking two and striking out eight and the Falcons were sparked by a homer from Alex Alonso and a six-run fourth inning to upset the #3 seed. Monmouth will face #6 seed Ocean Township on Sunday in the quarterfinals. JSZ has the highlights from a big win for the Falcons in Middletown:
