The Jersey Sports Zone team is in four different locations for the wrestling Super Regionals. Seven weight classes have their spots secured for Phillipsburg in next week’s individual state championships. Saturday saw weight classes 106 through 152 battle at four different sites to earn spots in next week’s individual state championships. The top four finishers in each region secured spots in Phillipsburg next weekend.

Brick Memorial Wins 3 Straight Regions in First Session

Calello Makes it Back to Back Region Titles
St. Joe-Metuchen’s Nico Calello made it back to back region titles at 106 pounds after scoring a pin at 1:59 over Hunterdon Central’s Anthony Rossi. Watch Calello beat the clock in the first period to get the win:
RBR’s Stolfa Needs OT to Get P’Burg Slot
Red Bank Regional’s Phil Stolfa was deadlocked 6-6 with Jackson Memorial’s Luke Temple in the 126 pound “blood round”. Stolfa’s two point takedown in overtime earned him a spot in Phillipsburg. Stolfa went on to finish 4th in the Super Region. Watch the move that gave Stolfa a spot in next week’s state tournament:
