A busy playoff weekend continues, as JSZ has highlights from three more sectional finals on the public side!


Camden 21 Seneca 0 | Central Group 3 Final

The High scored a touchdown of defense, special teams and offense to capture its first sectional title since 1976. West Virginia commit James Heard Jr. had three sacks, while Hamin Anderson had two of Camden’s four interceptions in the game. Taquan Brittingham returned a punt for a score and rushed for a TD for the Panthers (10-1). Jake Hasson had an interception for the Golden Eagles (10-1) in the loss. Camden advances to face Delsea in the Group 3 state semifinals next weekend at Cherokee.

Woodbury 36 Maple Shade 6 | South Group 1 Final

The Thundering Herd dominated to capture their second straight sectional championship. Bryan Johnson threw a pair of touchdown passes to Ibn Muhammad and rushed for a score for Woodbury (9-2). Anthony Reagan Jr. and Jabron Solomon also rushed for TDs in the victory. Alexander Cintron caught a late TD pass for the Wildcats (9-3) in the loss. Woodbury advances to face Salem in the Group 1 state semifinals next weekend at Cherokee.

Salem 33 Paulsboro 14 | Central Group 1 Final

It was a party on Walnut St. for the second-seeded Rams as they knocked off their longtime rival Paulsboro to win back-to-back sectional titles. Jahki Coates connected with Omarion Pierce for a pair of touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in the win. Ramaji Bundy rushed for a touchdown, hauled in an interception on defense, and provided great returns on special teams in a stellar all-around performance for Salem (8-4). Preston Moore and Damire Avant both rushed for a touchdown in the loss for Paulsboro (6-5). Salem will face Central champion Woodbury in a Group 1 state semifinal next week at Cherokee High School.
