There’s nothing scary about Halloween highlights! JSZ has you covered with action from all over the state as we close out October with a treat, not a trick!

Mater Dei Prep 26 Rumson-Fair Haven 19

Naran Buntin took a pitch from Kody Gibbs to score on a 57-yard hook and ladder with 27 seconds remaining to give Mater Dei a dramatic win over RFH. Rumson took a 19-18 lead with 1:48 to go on Luke Devlin’s 52-yard TD catch, his second score of the fourth quarter before Mater Dei used some Halloween trickery to put themselves in a prime position for a spot in the Shore Conference’s top four team playoff. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from one of the best finishes of 2020:

Donovan Catholic 21 Southern 14

The Griffins proved to be the best team in Ocean County as they halted the rushing attack of Jaiden Brown and the Rams. A surge in the second half by Donovan proved to be too much for Southern. Rushing touchdowns from James Bivins, Jahdir Loftland and Jayon Farrar helped lift the Griffins to victory and remain undefeated. JSZ’s Kenneth Bradley has the highlights from Toms River:

St. Joseph (Montvale) 42 Paramus Catholic 6

St. Joseph (Montvale) improved 3-2 on the year following a 43-6 win over Super Football Conference foe Paramus Catholic (0-5). Michigan State commit Audric Esteme, finishing with 201 all purpose yards and four touchdowns, proved once again that he is one of the top running backs in the Garden State. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Thank you to Rothman Orthopedics for sponsoring our St. Joseph (Montvale) coverage.

Ramapo 48 Paramus 7

After losing their state-best 27-game win streak and suffering a COVID-19 shutdown for two weeks, Ramapo returned to the gridiron with a vengeance. The Raiders erupted for 34 first half points before a running clock took them to their second win of the season. Harvard commit Charles DePrima and Richie Sica each scored two touchdowns and Sean Clapp delivered a 71-yard pick six.

JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights from Franklin Lakes:

Paulsboro 35 Penns Grove 20

To say Bhayshul Tuten had himself a day would be an understatement. The Red Raiders senior rushed for over 240 yards, scored three touchdowns and was named homecoming king! Preston Moore and Ameer Bateman also found the end zone in the victory for Paulsboro (4-0). Jaleel Patrick rushed for two scores and threw for a TD in the loss for the Red Devils (2-3).

JSZ’s Mike Frankel has the highlights:

Cherry Hill West 28 Cherry Hill East 0

For the eighth-straight season, The Boot will reside with the Lions after winning the 51st meeting with the Cougars. Cherry Hill West overcame five turnovers, and surged in the second half to stay unbeaten (5-0). Joshua Jean-Baptiste rushed for two touchdowns to power the Lions offense down the stretch. Louis Ragsdale added a late rushing touchdown and a pick-six to put the game out of reach.
