Allentown 5 Ewing 4 | 8 Innings

Allentown defeated Ewing 5-4 in eight innings after trailing 4-0 through the first two innings. The Redbirds with a three run inning in the fifth tied the game at 4-4 late. Ewing had a chance to go ahead in the top of the seventh with a runner at third with only one out, but Allentown turned a clutch double play to get out of the jam. Mike Doran’s single and stolen base in the bottom of the eighth would set up the eventual game winning RBI from Antonio Dominici. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights and postgame reaction:

Hunterdon Central 7 Ridge 6

Hunterdon Central (1-0) had to stave off a late and spirited comeback attempt from Ridge to lock up their first win of the season. Maryland commit Kyle McCoy was stellar on the mound for HC, throwing four scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in front of a dozen MLB scouts. Ridge (1-1) cut it to a one-run game twice, but Hunterdon Central was able to bend and not break.
