We get the week started with two great games from New Jersey high school baseball.  Check out a big win for North Hunterdon on the road and a great Monmouth County Tournament matchup between Ranney and Monmouth Regional!

Enrique Beltra hit a solo homer and added the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 6th inning to help the top seed avoid an upset from the #17 seed.  The Falcons battled back from 3-1 down with two runs in the 5th inning to tie the game before Ranney scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the 6th.  Panthers starter Marcello Mastroianni struck out 10 and AJ Gracia pitched 2.1 innings in relief to give Ranney a spot in the MCT quarters against Middletown South.

North Hunterdon 6 Pennington 1

North Hunterdon defeated Pennington 6-1 to hand the Red Hawks their first loss of the season. Following a pair of runs scored on a throwing error, Nick Hernandez added an RBI off a double to put the Lions ahead 3-0 in the first inning. The story of the afternoon was sophomore pitcher Chris Sand. Sand allowed just two hits while striking out seven batters and retired 16 consecutive outs to end the game.
