Toms River North quarterback Micah Ford has given a verbal commitment to play for Stanford University. Ford, who guided the Mariners to New Jersey’s first-ever Group 5 state championship is projected to play running back in college. He made his announcement via social media

Ford was the winner of Jersey Sports Zone’s Zoneman Trophy, given to the most outstanding football player in the state of New Jersey. Ford put together one of the most dominant single-season performances in recent memory. The Mariners’ go-to guy compiled 3,563 total yards of offense and 50 total touchdowns in 2022, while helping lead Toms River North to a perfect 14-0 season and the first-ever Group 5 state championship.
