Trey Dombroski started off his senior year right where he left off in 2018. The lefty allowed just one hit and struck out 14 in six innings of shutout ball to give the state’s 4th ranked team an impressive opening victory. Wall had just two hits in the game, but took advantage of four walks to manufacture runs in the first, third and fourth. Grant Shulman pitched a scoreless 7th to lock down the win. Somerville cracked a 114-year drought to win their first baseball state title in school history last season, and it was the Pioneers who got things off on the right foot Tuesday in their season-opener. The ‘Ville plated a pair of runs in the second inning and topped it off with five more in the third. JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights:
