Steinert 14 Hightstown 3
No. 8 Steinert remains undefeated at 5-0 following a 14-3 victory over CVC Colonial Division foe Hightstown to hand the Rams their first loss of the season. The Spartans led 5-1 after the first inning following a two-run home run from Paige Schultz. Jayci Conover would add an additional three-run blast in the bottom of the fifth to make it 11-2. Paige Schultz went 2-2 with 2 RBI’s (HR), Avery Kontura, Ceara O’Neal and Jayci Conover (HR) all finished 2-3 with 3 RBI’s. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

St. John Vianney 6 Colts Neck 3
The Lancers raced out to a 4-0 lead early and held off the defending Group 3 state champs to reach 2-0 on the young season. Mackenzie Bloss was 2-4 with a home run, her third in the first two games of the year. Kylie Ferris struck out nine and got out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh to seal the victory.
