Toms River East 0 Mainland 0 (TRE wins PK’s 3-2) | South Jersey Group 3 First Round

Elle Dworzanski delivered the clinching goal in penalty kicks as the Raiders survived a marathon to reach the SJ Group 3 quarterfinals. Emma Mastriano was rock solid in net for East and came up with a big save in the shootout to set the stage for Dworzanski’s match-winner. Riley Townsend had four saves in regulation and a had a pair of saves in PKs for eighth-seeded Mainland (12-7). Ninth-seed Toms River East (13-8-1) advances to face top-seeded Shawnee on Thursday.

Rumson-Fair Haven 3 Holmdel 1 | Central Jersey Group 2 First Round

Aubrey Scoble’s 32-yard strike from distance in the second half gave the Bulldogs a two goal cushion and helped send them to the section quarterfinals when they travel to face Cinnaminson on Thursday.  Stella Saad scored in the second minute followed by a Lauren McBarron goal to give Rumson a 2-0 lead.  Freshman Aylen Peters made it a 2-1 game going into the half before Scoble sealed the deal.

Trinity Hall 3 Mount St. Mary 0 | Non-Public A South First Round

The Monarchs orchestrated a busy second half to pull away from the Lions and score an opening round win. A first half goal from MC O’Connor preceded second half strikes from Molly Wood and Kailyn Fitzgerald as sixth-seeded Trinity Hall (10-7-3) keeps their season alive. The Monarchs advance to face third-seeded Notre Dame on Thursday. Eleventh-seed Mount St. Mary (10-10) had their season come to a close.
