The Garden State ice hockey season started over the weekend, and JSZ jumps in to bring you several great opening week games.
Delbarton 4 Gloucester Catholic 2
Coming off a 5-0 season-opening win over Bergen Catholic on Friday, the Green Wave picked up another impressive victory in Gordon Conference action. Max Pendy and Nick Faccone each scored a pair of goals for Delby, while Jason Cai made 32 saves in net. Billy Sheridan scored both goals for the Rams (0-1) in the loss.

Rumson-Fair Haven 3 Wall 1
Brett Pritchard’s shorthanded goal broke a scoreless tie in the third period and added one more on a breakaway to give RFH an opening night win. Andrew Croddick gave RFH a 2-0 lead with a goal in front of the net. Wall answered with a Daniel Burns goal ten seconds later to make it 2-1. West Essex 5 Montclair 1
The Knights opened their 2021-2022 season with a smashing win against a division rival. A four point night from Joey Castellano (2 goals, 2 assists) led the way for West Essex in their third consecutive win over Montclair (0-1), dating back to last season. Zach Jewett made 13 saves in the victory.
