Bergen Catholic 35 Don Bosco Prep 17 | Non-Public Group 4 Semifinal

Anthony Corbin’s 78-yard TD run on a fake punt sparked 21 unanswered points and give the Crusaders a second win in 2018 over their archrival and a spot in the state championship game at MetLife Stadium against St. Joe-Montvale.  Rahmir Johnson had 17 carries for 155 yards and two touchdowns.  The future Nebraska Cornhusker ripped off runs of 44 and 62 yards as part of Bergen Catholic’s explosive third quarter.  JSZ has all the highlights and post-game reaction from another great chapter in this rivalry:

St. Joe’s Montvale 24 St. Peter’s Prep 14 | Non-Public Group 4 Semifinal

Sophomore tailback Audric Estime carried the rock for a career-high 143 yards and two touchdowns as the Green Knights punched their ticket to MetLife Stadium for the Non-Public Group 4 Finals. The St. Joe’s defense was bulletproof in the second half, forcing a pair of turnovers and shutting down the Marauder offense. JSZ’s Jay Cook has the highlights from Montvale:

Sayreville 6 North Brunswick 0 | Central Jersey Group 5 Championship

It’s never a dull moment when Greater Middlesex Conference rivals Sayreville and North Brunswick square off. In a game that featured a one yard touchdown from quarterback Mark Whitford as they only score the Bombers were able to rely on defense to win the Central Group 5 Title 6-0. It is Sayreville’s fifth Sectional Championship since 2010. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights: 

Piscataway 28 Union City 7 | North 2 Group 5 Championship

Nasir Best had two second-half TD runs and the Chiefs defense shut out Union City for 47:40 to earn the 10th sectional title in school history.  Piscataway’s defense and special teams play was the difference.  JSZ  has highlights of the Chiefs championship win:

Woodrow Wilson 22 Burlington 14 | South Jersey Group 3 Championship

Staying on par with his record-breaking season, Woodrow Wilson quarterback Nick Kargman played up to the challenge by tossing three touchdowns to three different receivers as the Tigers won their first state sectional championship in 17 years. Hillside 36 Manasquan 10 – Central Jersey Group 2 Championship

The Comets broke open a 14-10 game with three fourth quarter touchdowns to make it back-to-back sectional championships.  Shadon Willis had a 23 yard TD catch and a 44-yard pick six in the win.  Hillside is now 11-0 and will face Haddonfield in the Central-South Group 2 bowl game at MetLife Stadium.  JSZ has highlights and post-game reaction from Hillside:

Penns Grove 14 Salem 7 | South Jersey Group 1 Championship

Tyreke Brown’s touchdown catch just seconds before the first half closed proved to be the last score in the South Jersey Group 1 title game and it helped secure the second-ever state sectional championship for the Penns Grove Red Devils.
