The state hockey playoffs are in full swing. JSZ brings you three games from around New Jersey. Middletown South is through to the quarterfinals in Public B and we’ve also got opening round wins for Pingry and Montclair Kimberly Academy in the Non-Public bracket

Middletown South 4 Tenafly 3 – Public “B” Second Round

Nate Block’s second period goal proved to be the game winner as the Eagles held off a third period comeback from Tenafly to move on to the Public “B” quarterfinals. The Eagles scored three times in the second to build a 4-1 lead. Tenafly got within 4-3 at the seven minute mark of the third, but Middletown South was able to hang on. The Eagles will face Point Pleasant Boro at home in the quarterfinals JSZ has the highlights from Middletown Ice World:

Pingry 6 Gill St. Bernard’s 0 – Non-Public First Round

Ryan Bush and Joe Faccone scored two goals each to pace the Big Blue to a 19th win on the season and a matchup with 5th seed Saint Augustine in the second round. JSZ has the highlights of Pingry’s impressive opening round effort:
