St. Augustine 24 St. Joseph Academy 7

The Hermits shut down the Wildcats to earn a signature win in South Jersey. Kenny Selby raced for an 85-yard touchdown and hauled in an interception in the victory for St. Augustine (3-1). Kanye Udoh rushed for 155 yards and a score in the win. Kevin Mayfield scored the only touchdown of the night for St. Joe (2-2).

Middletown South 27 Jackson Memorial 0

Dan Primiano ran for 192 yards and 2 TD’s and the Middletown South defense produced five turnovers including a pick six to give Steve Antonucci his 200th career win. Antonucci has coached at Middletown South for 24 years and his resume includes four #1 ranked teams in NJ and molding five NFL players headlined by Knowshon Moreno. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights and the post-game reaction from coach Antonucci following his milestone:


Cranford 45 Summit 8

After their matchup was called off on game week last year, Cranford (2-0) handed Summit (2-1) its first loss of the 2021 season following a 45-8 victory. The Cougars went ahead 31-0 at halftime thanks to a score and two interceptions by Will Gallagher in the first two quarters. Running back Colin Murray finished with 123 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns while quarterback Shane VanDam had 198 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns.

Ocean City 34 Mainland 6

The Red Raiders continued their dominant start to the season, knocking off the Mustangs to win the latest edition of the Battle for the Bridge. Senior RB Sean Mazzitelli had a big night on the ground, rushing for 139 yards and three touchdowns in the win for Ocean City (4-0). Junior QB M.J. Leslie scored the lone touchdown in the loss for Mainland (2-2).

Clifton 34 Old Tappan 22

Clifton’s impressive start to the 2021 season continued into Week Three. The Mustangs (3-0) rushed 38 times for 266 yards and scored all five touchdowns on the ground in a big win against perennial Bergen County contender Old Tappan (1-2). The Mustangs trailed 16-15 at the break but then pulled away thanks to a pair of two-touchdown games from Jacob Maldonado and Bryan Feliciano.

Monroe 18 Hamilton West 13

Anthony Patti’s 43-yard touchdown catch with 1:32 left in the 4th quarter gave the Falcons the lead and a safety sealed a third straight victory. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis and Darron Wallace bring you the late-game drama and all the big plays from this great WJFL showdown:
