It’s state championship day on the boys public side, and JSZ has coverage of all four state finals!

Rumson-Fair Haven 12 Mountain Lakes 6 | Boys | Group 1 State Final

The Bulldogs suffered a lopsided loss to the Lakers in last year’s Tournament of Champions final, but got their revenge nearly a year later. Rumson-Fair Haven (21-4) orchestrated a second-quarter explosion that saw them pull away from Mountain Lakes (16-6) and never look back in a revenge game. Cole Cashion led the way with four goals and an assist in the win for RFH, who captured their second straight state title (Group 2 last season). Mountain Lakes’ loss ends an incredible run for the Lakers, who have dominated Group 1 for the better part of a decade.

Flaim, Sean McCeney, Jake Lowry and Lucas Stocks all scored two goals apiece in the victory for Summit (15-4) Navy commit John McCurry scored a game-high five goals for Wall (17-6) in the loss.

Ridgewood 14 Cherokee 3 | Boys | Group 4 State Final

The Maroons survived the grueling North Group 4 sectional bracket and dominated South Jersey’s best for the program’s first state title since back in 2015. Ridgewood (19-3) was too much to handle for Cherokee (14-5) and rolled the Chiefs in convincing fashion. Jack Schultz, Myles McCutcheon and Will Brandt each logged hat tricks in the lopsided win. Cherokee’s Miguel Lontok accounted for all three of the Chiefs’ goals in the loss.
