Rutgers Prep 88 Franklin 45 | Boys

Rutgers Prep looks reloaded and ready to compete for hardware in 2021 as the Argonauts opened this season with a statement win over Franklin in a cross-town game. Jadin Collins – a Roselle Catholic transfer – tied with Jordan Atkins for a game-high 16 points. Cam Piggee had 15 points and Ranney transfer Ryan Zan had a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double.

St. John Vianney 86 Morris Catholic 50 | Girls | Super Games at the Shore

St. John Vianney (1-0) improves their winning streak to 28 games following an 86-50 season opening victory over Morris Catholic (0-1). SJV went ahead 40-27 at halftime thanks to an explosive first half from Princeton commit Madison St. Rose. The story of the night was recent transfer Zoe Brooks, who built a reputation the last two seasons at now defunct Trenton Catholic, playing in her first game with the Lancers. The Tournament of Champions favorite’s adding another weapon to their already deadly repertoire to increase their success and the statement win has put the rest of the state on notice. Sparta 68 Rumson-Fair Haven 47 | Girls | Super Games at the Shore

Brynn McCurry led four Spartans in double digits with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists as Sparta opened the season with a high-profile win at the Super Games at the Shore in Holmdel. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from St. John Vianney:
