Sparta 54 Rumson-Fair Haven 45 | Girls | She Got Game Classic

Ally Sweeney had 21 points and Bailey Chapman added 19 as Sparta opens the season in the She Got Game Shore Games with a quality win.  Sparta lost Villanova commit Brynn McCurry to a season-ending knee injury in a scrimmage, but Sweeney, the Richmond commit, was able to step in and set the tone for the Spartans.  RFH rallied in the third to tie the game 36-36, but Sparta made 16 free throws in the fourth quarter to score the victory.

Manasquan 55 Archbishop Carroll (PA) 45 | Girls | She Got Game Classic

The reigning Group 2 state champions were in a hole on opening night, but rallied to capture a rousing win. Manasquan trailed 40-33 going into the fourth quarter and then took control of the game with a 22-5 run in the final frame to defeat one of the Philadelphia Catholic League’s top teams. Olivia Shaughnessy led the Warriors with 17 points but it was Hope Masonius who sparked that fourth quarter run by pumping in nine of her 14 points in the last eight minutes.

Spotswood 71 Carteret 36 | Boys

Spotswood picked up their first win of the year following a dominant 71-36 victory over GMC Blue Division rival Carteret. The Chargers running a full court press defense in the second quarter were able to take a 40-19 lead at halftime. Kiye Walker and Rion Ahmetaj both finished with 16 points for Spotswood.
