State semifinal weekend is upon us, and JSZ has highlights from all over NJ! Who advanced to state finals? Watch the highlights as they roll in!
Phillipsburg 35 Ramapo 6 | Group 4 State Semifinal
Jett Genovese’s career day on the ground propelled the Stateliners to a state semifinal win, setting up their first group championship game appearance in two weeks. Genovese handled 15 carries for 149 yards and four rushing touchdowns for Phillipsburg (11-1) in the win. The Stateliners now have two more games on their schedule – the 117th Thanksgiving Day game against rival Easton (PA) on Nov. 28th and the Group 4 state championship against either Winslow Twp. or Millville on Dec. 4th.

Toms River North 27 Washington Township 10 | Group 5 State Semifinal
TJ Valerio threw for 200 yards and three touchdowns to power the two-time defending state champion Mariners to a third-straight state final. Cole Garrison rushed for a touchdown and hauled in the final touchdown of the night from Valerio. Nasir Jackson and Mekai Morse added receiving touchdowns for Toms River North (13-0). Kirtan Patel stepped in due to injury and tossed a 21-yard touchdown to Paris Pratt in the loss for Washington Township (10-3). The Mariners will try to complete a second perfect season in three years when they face Union City for the Group 5 state title.

Rumson-Fair Haven 44 Point Pleasant Boro 10 | Group 2 State Semifinal
Owen O’Toole threw for 334 yards and ran for two scores in cold and rainy conditions and the Bulldogs scored 31 straight points in the second half to return to the state championship game for a third straight year. RFH (12-0) will face Shabazz on Dec. 4 at Rutgers seeking its first state title after losing the previous two years in heartbreaking fashion. Carson Memmott booted three field goals and had a 31-yard interception return for a touchdown in the victory.

Glassboro 36 Woodstown 0 | Group 1 State Semifinal
Kenny Smith rushed for over 200 yards and two touchdowns, as the Bulldogs punched a ticket back to the Group 1 state final. Amari Sabb and Xavier Sabb also scored TDs in the victory for Glassboro (12-0), which will face Cedar Grove for the title. Carter Orlandini-Hart had an interception for the Wolverines (10-2) in the loss.
