Despite the fact that the playoffs are heating up, New Jersey non-public programs played under blustery and wintery conditions Friday night. Both the Non-Public A and B finals are starting to shape up and we have highlights from all three games played on Friday. Stay tuned as all the action rolls in.

Don Bosco Prep 48 Seton Hall Prep 14 | Non-Public A Semifinal

Behind their massive offensive line led by Texas A&M commit Chase Bisontis, five Ironmen rushers combined for 403 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground in an impressive performance.  Like they’ve done all season long, Don Bosco (9-2) controlled time of possession and dominated at the point of attack to pull away with the lead. Logan Bush and Nolan James each eclipsed 150 rushing yards and both had touchdown runs in this game. Seton Hall Prep (6-6) saw their season come to a close in the loss. Don Bosco will face the winner of Bergen Catholic-Delbarton in the Non-Public A final next Friday night at MetLife Stadium.

DePaul 35 St. Joseph Academy (Hammonton) 14 | Non-Public B Semifinal

DePaul advanced to the Non-Public B Final following a 35-14 victory over St. Joseph Academy (Hammonton). Tied 14-14 midway through the third quarter, a 97 yard kick return touchdown from Jadin Johnson would give DePaul the lead and was the first of 21 unanswered points scored by the Spartans late in the second half. DePaul losing in the title game last season will get a rematch against reining champions, Red Bank Catholic.

Red Bank Catholic 50 Holy Spirit 21 | Non-Public B Semifinal

Sabino Portella had 185 yards rushing and three TD’s along with an interception on defense and Torin Harmon and Emanuel Ross added two TD’s each as the Caseys busted open a 21-21 game at the half with 29 points on the way to a return trip to MetLife Stadium and a rematch with DePaul Catholic in the Non-Public “B” State Championship.  Intense snow came in the fourth quarter and provided a great backdrop to a state semifinal high school football game.
