Ryan Butler helped Bergen Catholic avenge a heartbreaking loss in last year’s regular season finale Friday night behind a career night on the ground. Butler carried the rock 24 times for 247 yards and three touchdowns in a statement win over DePaul. AJ Morris and Christian Ross also delivered highlight-reel touchdowns in the victory.

Woodbridge 27 Cranford 14
In a battle of two unbeaten teams, it was Woodbridge who would stay perfect on the year following a 27-14 victory over Cranford. The Barrons trailed early in the first quarter, but fought back on defense to hold a Cougar team that averaged 41 points per game coming in to just 14. Justin Magera finished with two scores while Stony Brook University commit Ali Lee Jr. ended the evening with 205 rushing yards and a score.

Parsippany Hills 28 River Dell 21
Both teams entered with 3-0 unblemished records but only the Vikings would come out with another W. River Dell controlled the first half and led 14-0 but Parsippany Hills went to their air attack in the second half to win the game. Chris Evans threw two touchdown passes and Jacob Smith caught one of them and returned an interception for a touchdown to seal the game for the Vikings.

Ocean City 36 Millville 16
The Red Raiders continue to stake their claim as one of South Jersey’s top teams, as they handle the Thunderbolts to stay undefeated. Jake Schneider broke the Ocean City career receptions record in the victory, as he finished with 144 yards receiving and an interception return for a touchdown. Brad Jamison also had a pick-six, while Jacob Wilson returned a kickoff for a score. Joe Repetti and Jake Inserra both rushed for touchdowns in the win. Ta’ron Haile and LeQuint Allen both scored for Millville in the loss.

John Volker had 4 touchdown runs and Jimmy Kennedy started the scoring off with a 27-yard scoop and score to give the Bulldogs an emphatic victory at home to improve to 3-1. Volker has 10 touchdown runs in four games.

The Lancers used three long touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams to score a crosstown win. TJ Crudup had an 83-yard punt return TD, Josh East went 84-yards on a swing pass and Troy Dey closed out the scoring with a 45-yard pick six. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Holmdel:

Ocean Township 21 Red Bank Regional 15
Christian LaRosa had two TD runs and the Spartans came back from an 8-6 halftime deficit to score their first win of 2020. LaRosa opened the scoring with a 40-yard TD run and his 37-yard 4th quarter score put Ocean in front 21-8. RBR’s Owen Laughlin threw two touchdown passes to Ryan Dengler in the loss. Timber Creek 27 Clearview 0
The Chargers defense pitches a shutout for the second-straight week as Timber Creek picks up the victory on homecoming. Donovan Leary threw for two touchdowns on the night and Dior Boyd cashed in on a touchdown run. Jihaad Campbell caught a touchdown, and came up with two sacks defensively in a terrific two-way performance.
