Rumson-Fair Haven 21 Mater Dei Prep 16

Jack Kelly grabbed a blocked pass from Gordon Forsyth and rumbled 50-yards for a score to break a 14-14 tie and give Rumson-Fair Haven a huge home win. The Seraphs raced out to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter on TD’s by Clarence Lewis and Malik Ingram, but RFH responded with a 68 yard TD run by John Volker. Geoff Schroder’s 32-yard TD run on the first play from the scrimmage set the stage for Kelly’s game-winning pick-six. Woodrow Wilson 48 Shawnee 0

The Tigers made a statement and then some, trouncing the previously undefeated Renegades. Texas A&M commit Fadil Diggs was unstoppable, finishing with three touchdowns and close to 200 yards receiving. Devin Kargman threw five touchdown passes on the night. Temple commit Muheem McCargo found the end zone twice.

St. Joseph (Met.) 13 Colonia 7

The St. Joseph (Met.) Falcons continue to make noise in the Greater Middlesex Conference as their winning streak extends to five games. The Falcons shut out Colonia in the second half, limiting them to only 90 yards of offense all night long. K’Shawn Schulters’ pick-six in the fourth quarter ending up being the game-winning play.

West Deptford 28 Haddonfield 14

The Eagles, dominant through much of the game, survived a late scare against the rival Bulldogs. West Deptford led 28-0 heading into the fourth quarter when Haddonfield rallied with 14 points in less than two minutes to cut the lead in half. Tyshawn Bookman led an effective rushing attack for the Eagles, carrying the ball 14 times for 140 yards. Quarterback Aaron Graeber rushed for two touchdowns on the night, including a 22-yard scamper just before halftime. Gavin Shields contributed on both sides of the ball for the Eagles, scoring on a tough five-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and adding a 18-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Manalapan 34 Long Branch 19

After dropping back to back games Manalapan rebounded with a dominating 34-19 over Long Branch to improve to 3-2 on the year. The Braves were headlined by running back Andre Johnson who rushed for 187 yards and four touchdowns. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Central Regional 16 Holmdel 9

Central Regional linebacker I-meer Johnson led the way for the Golden Eagles’ defense Friday night. Johnson’s fumble return touchdown was one of two Central trips to the end zone while his fellow teammates played suffocating defense to score their first divisional win of 2019.

Lacey 14 Red Bank Regional 7

Noah Brunatti threw two touchdown passes and the Lacey defense produced three interceptions in the fourth quarter to preserve the win that gets the Lions to 5-1 in 2019. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from Ocean County:

Old Bridge 7 Monroe 6

Friday’s matchup between Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division rivals Old Bridge (4-0) and Monroe (2-2) was anything but business as usual. After a scoreless first quarter Sophomore quarterback, Owen Haughney found Andrew Vera for a 23-yard touchdown to help the Knights lead 7-0 at halftime. After a Monroe score to begin the fourth, Bryson Corbett would block the extra point attempt and end the game with an interception in the final two minutes of regulation. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez has the highlights:

Shore Regional 35 Monmouth Regional 7

The Blue Devils bust open an 8-0 first-quarter lead with 20 points in the second quarter featuring two Dylan Drahos TD runs and a 17-yard pick-six from Jamie Mazzacco to cruise to their third win of 2019. JSZ’s Rich Chrampanis has the highlights from West Long Branch:
