Don Bosco Prep – 11 Bergen Catholic – 3

Don Bosco Prep traveled to Lyndhurst on Wednesday looking to take down their rival school Bergen Catholic for a second time in just three days. The Ironmen placed Iona bound Drew Helmstetter on the mound, and the lefty did his job. Helmstetter struck out 9 batters in 6 innings while allowing just 2 runs. The Don Bosco offense took care of business as well, erupting for 7 runs in the 4th inning, and the ironmen would go on to score 11 in the game, led by Ryan Carr (3 or 4 2RBI). Steinert 4 Robbinsville 3 – Walk Off

Facing a team twice in less than 24 hours is tough, winning both those games is even tougher. Steinert came into Wednesday’s match up with Robbinsville 3-1 on the year, the Spartans only L came in a 6-2 loss to No. 1 Delbarton. However, it was the Ravens who got on the board first. The two would exchange blows and lead changes until the bottom of the seventh when we were all tied up at 3. Jake Muller would step to the plate to deliver the game winning hit to help Steinert improve to 4-1 on the year. Watch the highlights and Muller’s post game interview now:
