Vova Trotsko is new to America and New Jersey high school basketball.  After leaving Ukraine in the early fall, Colts Neck welcomed the refugee to its school and the Cougars basketball program.  Watch JSZ’s feature on a sensational sophomore who’s getting acclimated to the United States and the Garden State!


Volodymyr “Vova” Trotsko arrived in the United States in September by way of Ukraine.  As he learns English and life in America, the sport of basketball is international, and playing the game helps overcome any language barrier.  The 6’6″ sophomore has already made waves at the start of his high school career scoring 26 points against RBC and Middletown North and playing a key role in the Cougars’ 7-2 start.  Vlad Syzonako lives with Vova and is able to translate for him as he adjusts to life in America.
