Anthony Ruggiero’s redirection in the 22nd minute proved to be the difference for the Mariners in their tightly-contested Shore Conference Tournament win over the Purple Roses. Third-seeded Toms River North (12-2) played great defense throughout the game to keep sixth-seeded St. Rose (9-2-3) at bay. The Mariners advance to the SCT semifinals on Wednesday where they will face No. 2 seed Howell.
