JSZ spent the evening in Clark for wall-to-wall coverage of both Union County Tournament lacrosse championship games. Stay tuned throughout the night as the highlight come in!
Summit 6 Westfield 5 | Union County Tournament Final | Boys
In just a season and a half, Robbie Kievit has established himself as one of the premiere goalies in the entire state. Kievit made 12 saves Saturday night, but his biggest came inside the final 20 seconds of regulation to preserve a county championship for the Hilltoppers. Second-seeded Summit (12-2) has now won six consecutive Union County Tournament championships. James Grainger had two goals and Daniel Flaim had four points to propel the offense. Top-seeded Westfield (9-4) put up a valiant effort battling back from a sizable 5-2 halftime deficit – five different players scored in the loss.

Summit 11 Oak Knoll 3 | Union County Tournament Final | Girls
Stellar defense and a beautifully-drawn up offensive game plan were the two deciding factors in the Hilltoppers winning their first county championship since the 2019 season. From the second quarter on, No. 2 seed Summit (11-4) took control of this game and never looked back. Lauren Riley, Lindsay Thomas and Nell Ducey each contributed two goals apiece in the winning effort. Top-seeded Oak Knoll (12-4) was limited by Summit’s stifling defense, leaving them with little to no room to operate offensively.
