Ransford Gyan is arguably the most dynamic and impactful high school soccer player in the entire country. Now, a whole new audience will get the chance to see him at work.
Gyan – a star midfielder at perennial power St. Benedict’s Prep – announced on social media Monday afternoon he’d given a verbal commitment to play at Clemson University.

A native of Ghana, Gyan landed in Newark and immediately became an integral piece for the Gray Bees’ top-shelf program. He was named the National Player of the Year following a masterful junior year and also helped St. Benedict’s build a 103-match unbeaten streak that ultimately lasted seven seasons.
Gyan will join a Tigers program that is currently ranked seventh in the country and were runners-up in this year’s ACC Championship. His final three school choices also included Duke and Rutgers.
