The Warriors scored a pair of goals in the span of 2:16 early in the second half to salvage a tie against the Eagles. Middletown South jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Haley Nicholas and Grace Massell. Manasquan answered in the first four minutes of the second half as Maggie Kelly headed in a goal off a Molly Wierman corner kick followed by an Erin Commesso rebound off the post. Both goalkeepers stepped up with big saves. Manasquan’s Noelle Johnstone had 19 saves and Middletown South’s Gabby Bair has 12 stops. The Eagles are on an eight-game unbeaten streak and are now 7-2-2 on the season. Manasquan finishes the regular season series with a 1-0-1 record against Middletown South.
