Seniors help Allentown Girls take home Group 3 State Title

Middletown South 1 Allentown 2- Group 3 State Final

After suffering a crushing loss to rival Steinert in the Mercer County Tournament Championship, the top seeded Allentown Girls Soccer team was able to regroup and make a playoff run that will live in school history. The Red Birds outscored opponents 16-4 following the Steinert loss to help capture the first Central Group 3 title and State Championship for Allentown. Senior defender Marin Hartshorn got things going with a goal in the 31st minute. Middletown South’s Christina Sundt countered in the second with a goal in the 53rd, but Allentown would have the last word as Captain Carly Roche sealed the game with a goal with 11 to go. JSZ’s Nery Rodriguez was there for all the action!
