The closing of Saint Anthony’s High School in Jersey City has some elite basketball talent looking for new schools.  Shore Sports Zone has confirmed that 6-foot-9 forward Saviour Akuwovo has been accepted at Ranney and will join the Panthers for his senior season.  Akuwovo has picked up ten Division I offers headlined by Seton Hall, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest.  Akuwovo is on the roster of Team Rio, the AAU team that features Ranney starters Scottie Lewis, Bryan Antoine, Alex Klatsky and Ahmadu Sarnor.  Saviour scored two points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots in the Friars 51-48 win over Ranney last January.  Akuwovo joins a Ranney team that went 22-5 last season, reaching the Shore Conference semifinals and the Non-Public “B” South Jersey semifinals.
