27 seniors are gone from a group that did nothing but win state championships in their four years. Quarterback Michael O’Connor started in three straight state finals and shined on the big stage – he’s off to Bryant and linebacker Mike Ruane graduated last December and could be in the mix as a starter as a true freshman at UMass. Veteran coach Jerry Schulte isn’t caught up in who’s not coming back as he focuses on a deep roster that has replenished its talent year in and year out.
