Ridgewood 26 Irvington 20

Taking out the No. 1 ranked team in New Jersey was no easy task – yet the Maroons’ year-long preparations to get revenge on the Blue Knights ultimately paid off in the end.

A four-touchdown game from quarterback Katie Bisgrove powered Ridgewood (9-0) to a thrilling 2023 SFC Girls’ Flag conference championship win in a statement win Irvington (8-1). This was a rematch of last year’s conference final, won by the Blue Knights.

Audrey Schildkraut caught a pair of touchdowns – and hauled in the eventual game-winning pass inside the final minute – while Allie Zegarra and Lucia Mastellone each had touchdown catches of their own. Irvington star QB Janasia Wilson was a dual-threat all game long and her two touchdown passes and touchdown run accounted for all three Irvington touchdowns in the loss.

Ridgewood now advances to the North Jersey championship game where they will face the winner of Harrison and Hillside for the title. That game will be played on June 10th at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park.
