RBC completes Shore dominance at States

EAST RUTHERFORD – Tommy Spernal had three TD runs and RBC jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never surrendered it in a 45-20 win over Delbarton at MetLife Stadium.  The Caseys win the Non-Public Group 3 state championship, their first state title since 1976.  RBC was able to secure a turnover on the opening kickoff and marched down the field capped off by the first of Spernal’s three scores.  Eddie Hahn’s 15 yard TD run made it 13-0, but Delbarton closed the gap with a Luca Tria 11 yard run to make it 13-7 at the half.  Spernal scored on the opening drive of the second half and while Delbarton was able to put together two scores, RBC had an answer every time.

Spernal finished with 98 yards on 19 carries, while Hahn was 9 of 10 in the air for 234 yards and a TD pass to go along with 47 yards rushing and another score.  Lubischer had four catches for 122 yards and a TD and Trevor Cowley had 3 grabs for 91 yards.
