Ocean Township quarterback Kenny Pickett has given a verbal commitment to play for the Pitt Panthers.  Pickett was an original commit to Temple, but changed course and is now heading to western Pennsylvania following his senior season with the Spartans

Ocean Township quarterback Kenny Pickett was originally set to be Philadelphia bound when he gave a verbal commitment on April 9th to play Division I football for the Temple Owls, but the 2015 SSZ All-Zone selection changed course and re-opened his recruiting.  Nearly two months later, Pickett is still going to Pennsylvania to play football as a collegian, but now it’s at the University of Pittsburgh.  Pickett made the announcement via his Twitter feed on Saturday evening:

Pickett threw for 1796 yards and had a TD/INT ratio of 19 to 4.  He also rushed for over 300 yards and scored five times for the Spartans who went 9-2 in 2015.  Click here to visit SSZ’s Ocean team page and see more highlights of Kenny Pickett’s 2015 season.

Pickett had a total of seven Division I-A offers: Pitt, Boston College, Temple, Buffalo, UConn, Texas State, and Toledo.  He just completed his season as left fielder for the Ocean Township baseball team which reached the Central Jersey Group 3 finals.
